A CAFE was recently rewarded for its healthy food options.
The Orchard Cafe at Worcester Countryside Centre achieved the Healthier Choices Food Award.
The scheme is run by Worcestershire Regulatory Services and recognises food businesses that offer customers a variety of healthy options.
Councillor Lynn Denham, cabinet member for sustainable communities at Worcester City Council said: “I would like to congratulate Guy and Nett at The Orchard Cafe on their Healthier Choices Food Award.
“Worcester families and visitors now know that after playing at the countryside centre or walking through the woods, they can pop in and have a healthy snack or meal.
"This is an excellent addition to our ambition for a healthy active city.”
The Healthier Choices Food Award scheme, is open only to those that have either a Four or Five star food hygiene rating, as part of the Food Standards Agency’s food hygiene rating scheme.
The café is owned by Guy and Nett Ward, and has been operational for ten years.
Their ethos is to serve locally sourced, fair-trade, homemade, seasonal, free-range and sustainable food.
