Case Summary
The site was determined in 2009 as contaminated land due to a oil tank spillage that resulted in the contamination of a private drinking water supply within the curtilage of the premises. The oil was identified as domestic heating fuel (Kerosene). Following a comprehensive investigation the contaminated land was removed and the drinking water well was de-watered and sealed. As of March 2010 the land and property is no longer considered to be 'contaminated land' in accordance with Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
