New Applications & Variations to Premises Alcohol Licences

All new applications and variations to existing Premises and Club Licences are subject to a 28 day consultation period. During this time, the following statutory bodies are consulted;

  • Police
  • Fire Safety Department
  • Development Control (Planning Services)
  • Safeguarding Safety (Child Protection)
  • Community Protection (Noise nuisance)
  • Business Compliance (Heath and Safety)
  • Primary Care Trust

Representations either in favour or objecting to a licence application must clearly relate to one or more of the four licensing objectives. These are;

  • the prevention of crime & disorder
  • public safety
  • the protection of children from harm
  • prevention of public nuisance

Nature of Variation:

This application seeks to vary the existing condition at Annex 2 (d) of the premises licence which currently states that the premises licence shall permit activities for a maximum of two events per year, with the first event taking place over three consecutive days at the end of May and the second event taking place over three consecutive days in September.The applicant seeks to vary the premises licence by replacing the existing condition contained within Annex 2 of the licence which restricts events to specific months. The condition shall be removed in its entirety and replaced with the following: The premises licence shall permit a maximum of two events per calendar year, each comprising a festival held over no more than three consecutive days. No other changes are proposed to the licence. There are no changes to licensable activities, permitted hours, site layout, capacity, or existing operating controls, and all existing conditions will remain in force unless expressly varied by this application.
