Safeguarding training

This page has information for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle drivers needing to update their safeguarding training.

Safeguarding training provides the skills to identify, understand, and address risks of harm, abuse, or neglect to children and vulnerable adults. It promotes a safe and supportive environment by enabling individuals to act correctly and report any worries.

Safeguarding training sessions are currently held at two locations:

Wychavon District Council Civic Centre, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Pershore WR10 1PT
(parking is chargeable, see: Civic Centre Car Park)

Wyre Forest House, Finepoint Way, Kidderminster, WR11 7WF
(there is free parking in the staff car park. If the barrier is closed on arrival, press the button for attention to tell the operator the reason for attending and the barrier will be opened)

Drivers can attend any session, as long as it takes place before their current licence expires (in the case of drivers licensed with Wyre Forest District Council, training should be done by 1 July 2025).

Your email should include the driver's full name, driver badge number, email address and mobile phone number, along with the preferred date of training.

Be sure to book Worcestershire Regulatory Services Safeguarding Training and NOT Competency Certificate training.

Sessions can booked directly by phoning 01905 843000. However, please note that this number is not manned continuously.

County Council trainers will confirm with Worcestershire Regulatory Services which drivers have attended the training. Drivers who book training but do not attend will be required to attend a later session and may be charged again.
