Insect and Fly Nuisance

Insect problems are rare and normally associated with changes in their life cycles coinciding with agricultural practices and the time of year. Other situations arise in environments that are favourable to fly habitation (eg. cluster flies in roof spaces).

Domestic Premises

Local Authorities currently have no legal powers to address insect problems from domestic premises. If you are affected by such insects, you may wish to consider approaching your neighbours on an informal basis, if it is unsuccessful you may wish to consider taking your own private civil action.

Commercial Premises

Nuisance insects can be caused by poor agricultural practices or large accumulations of putrescible material. If you are affected by insects from commercial activities please contact us via the link to our Commercial Premises Service Request form.
